Este domingo se entregó el Oscar 2019, ceremonia histórica en muchos aspectos por la nominación de “Roma”, la película más aclamada del cineasta Alfonso Cuarón. La noche del Oscar 2019 trajo sorpresas desde sus primeros minutos, con victorias para favoritas del público como “Black Panther” y “Bohemian Rhapsody”; así como “Roma” aclamada por la crítica internacional. Con 10 nominaciones cada una, la cinta mexicana “Roma” (de Alfonso Cuarón) y la británica “The Favourite” (de Yorgos Lanthimos) son las grandes estrellas de la noche, aunque es la película protagonizada por Yalitza Aparicio y Marina de Tavira la que parte como favorita, tanto en las casas de apuestas como en las predicciones de los críticos de cine de diversos medios especializados. En declaraciones a TNT, Yalitza Aparicio dijo que su vida ha cambiado mucho en los últimos meses. De ganar “Roma”, la producción rompería una tradición casi centenaria en el Oscar: nunca una producción en un idioma diferente del inglés se ha llevado el mayor premio de la noche.
